The Trees Have To Wonder

This was carved in the aftermath of the Los Angeles fires.
Tragedy often reveals our better natures for those who choose to look. Our compassion, empathy and the ability to put ourselves and safety to the side to help those in great distress and need. Great gratitude for those first responders who run towards calamity and for those who rise as friend and neighbor in times of deep despair.

And yet, there is false blame and conspiracy and that fierce wind of malevolence that blows hard on the embers that burn at what truly connects us.

The trees understand community, connection and what it means to be rooted in the earth. Look. Listen.
